Project: Website re-design
Client: Sarbuild – Perth-based construction company who specialise in developing commercial/industrial properties in and around the Perth region
Contribution: Design of website layout and management of site construction using Word Press
Web developer: Mark Law at digiflip
We started out by identifying Sarbuild's needs for this new website: a "brochure" website that displays their extensive services and developments – and encourages users to contact Sarbuild directly. We investigated Sarbuild's competition and found a lot of "flashy" and over-designed websites in the construction sector.
So, to separate Sarbuild from the competition, we decided that a clean and to-the-point website would foster a strong sense of Sarbuild's brand of no-nonsense professionalism. After a few initial iterations we arrived at a design for a strongly structured website that was easy to navigate and allowed Sarbuild's quality work to come to the fore.
The site is constructed upon the popular Word Press framework. It's a good system, but the back end can sometimes be confusing. We wanted to make it easy for the client to update information and images themselves, so working with our very talented web developer we also devised an easy-to-use customised back end just for Sarbuild.
For the hand-over, we also supplied a detailed how-to guide in PDF format for the Sarbuild staff to get the most of their new custom back end.
The client is very happy with the system and says it's a joy to use.
Job done.
